I have been greatly amused by this little war that has been waged between Jay Leno (former host of the Tonight Show), Conan O’Brien (current host of The Tonight Show) and NBC (owner of The Tonight Show). For those of you who have been under a rock here is what happened. The owner decided to present a clear plan to hand over the torch of The Tonight Show from The former host (Leno) to the current host (Conan) in a way that would be as orderly as possible. The switch over day was fast approaching and NBC decided that it would rather keep the Leno by giving him another show instead of letting him go to another network. All is well on the switch over date.

Fast forward seven month later, both shows are not doing well and they decided to put Jay Leno back at his old time slot and move Conan and The Tonight Show to after midnight. Conan decided that isnt cool to move “The Tonight Show” too after midnight and the funniest begins. The Tonight show has came on right after the news in The South for as long as I can remember. It would be crazy to have The Tonight show basically tomorrow.

Thats as much as I understand. I dont think its fair to ask someone to have the same ratings in seven months that took someone 17 years to build. Thats just my opinion. I AM TEAM COCO all the way. The only thing NBC has going for them is Law and Order and that is it.

Who’s side are you on and why?

Yeah okay so I watched both shows last night. The previews drew me in… LOL. The two things that I took away from these shows were, a check is a check and your family can be your worst hinderance. The saddest part of the Fantasia show was that she reads at a 7th grade level, however I give her a standing O for being public about her education and trying to do something about it. I dont know if her brother, “Tooney” is on that stuff, but I can tell you this.. blood or no blood he would have got his ass whooped for what he did.

Who knew that Pep was freaky cougar? Well we all know now. Ol’ buddy with the juicy curl that caught on fire during that hot tub action you also receive a standing O from me from bouncing back. It takes a lot of game to bounce back from having your hair catch on fire. LOL.

Anways I have my new guilty pleasure on Mondays now. Le Sigh.

I knew it was coming and you knew it was coming. Miley Cryus has decided to call it quits after this final season of taping. Once i saw the stripped pole routine and the semi naked photos begin hitting the net it was a matter of time. I understand who can take her seriously as an actress for more than family friendly flicks. You can argue that family films do still make a shit ton of money. I wish her the best. Stay out of trouble and learn from the life that is Britney Spears.

I like the campaign. I do however question the motives of some of those who agreed to take photos. Is it the trendy thing to do? Shout to Lala, she had a big year last year and I bet she will have another one this year. Am I only one who thinks that instead of having hosting the reunion shows, she should have her own show. Dont know what type.

Press Release

Sandra ‘Pepa’ Denton and Three of Her Closest Friends Search for Mr. Right in the Big Apple

New VH1 Original Series “Let’s Talk About Pep” Premieres Monday, January 11
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ — “Let’s Talk About Pep” is a real-life comedy following Sandra “Pepa” Denton of Salt-n-Pepa fame as she emerges from an over four-year romantic and sexual sabbatical to search for love again.
After being burned by bad boys one too many times, Pep decided to get out of the game for a while. She thought maybe clearing her head and going celibate would cause “The One” to magically appear. Guess what? It didn’t! Now Pep is joining forces with three of her closest girlfriends — all single and searching, too — to try the dating scene again. Together the four friends will laugh, cry and dish lots of dirt as they all try to find true love.
VH1’s new original series, “Let’s Talk About Pep” is set to premiere Monday, January 11th at 10:30PM ET/PT. We’ll get to know Pepa’s partners in crime: TV personality and journalist Jacque Reid, who’s entertaining the notion of trying motherhood alone until Mr. Right comes along; Joumana Kidd, former model and sports journalist, now returning to the dating scene after her highly-publicized divorce from basketball superstar Jason Kidd; and the wild child of the bunch, voiceover artist and radio personality Kali Troy (a.k.a. “Kittie”), on the hunt for a man who’s man enough to keep up with her.
While potential suitors range in age and occupation, the ladies are at a similar place in their lives: All have achieved success in their professional ventures but lack that partner to share it with. Of course they each have very different strategies for finding the perfect guy. But “Let’s Talk About Pep” isn’t just about the dating game — it’s about the ties that bind these girlfriends together. No matter how they fare in sex and romance, they’ve always got each other.
Watch their stories unfold when “Let’s Talk About Pep” premieres Monday, January 11th, 2010 at 10:30 PM ET/PT on VH1.
“Let’s Talk About Pep” is executive produced by Banks Tarver, Ken Druckerman and Brian Nashel for Left/Right, as well as Sandra “Pepa” Denton and Cheryl “Salt” Wray. Jeff Olde, Shelly Tatro, Danielle Gelfand and Kari McFarland oversee the series for VH1.

Well just off the heels of a FCC threat to FOX and Time Warner to make nice not stop the fair people of this land from missing Football and The Simpsons another Cable System versus content provider has come to a head. Cable Networks negotiate with Cable providers for fee per customer. This use to be their main source of of income but in the last few years as more people watch Cable Television Cable Networks have been able to make more in advertising.

Enter Scripps Network Interactive, owner of HGTV and The Food Network, and Cablevision. They could not agree on this price so all Cablevision subscribers lost the two networks. The real loser is the customers on Cablevision who love these networks.

So imagine if the content provider and cable provider were the same company. Would these Cable Networks get sweetheart deals regarding premium rates or would non company owned networks get the short end of the stick or will both happen and your cable bill go up? Enter Comcast and NBC. The government needs to seriously look into this upcoming deal.

As you can tell by reading their press releases they are not friends

Statement Issued by Scripps Networks Interactive
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Cablevision simply is not telling the truth.
Scripps Networks Interactive has been trying to have productive negotiations with Cablevision for more than six months, but to no avail. Repeated requests to sit down together to discuss a fair market price for our networks have been rejected – even as recently as Sunday afternoon.
Cablevision is trying to characterize our rate increases as exorbitant and our negotiating strategies as unusual or unethical.
Yet, every other cable and satellite provider in the country has willingly and professionally renegotiated a fair market rate for the rights to carry these popular networks. That’s why both networks can still be seen on every other cable, satellite and telecom system in the country except Cablevision. Under our current contracts, Cablevision pays us about 25 cents per subscriber for the combination of Food Network and HGTV. That combined rate is substantially lower than rates earned by other, individual top 10 cable networks and considerably less than rates Cablevision pays itself for less popular networks that it owns.
True, short-term contract extensions are often granted, but only when the two parties are engaged in productive negotiations and there has been substantive agreement between them. Cablevision’s offer was take-it-or-leave-it, and would still make Food Network – a Top 10 network – one of the lowest paid channels on its lineup.
We regret deeply the interruption of service for Cablevision customers who rely on us for quality programming, but we hope and trust that they understand that Cablevision can’t get something for nothing. Let’s be clear, we have been and remain ready and willing to negotiate. But until they will step forward in good faith, it’s Cablevision that’s holding their customers hostage.

Cablevision Statement Regarding Scripps Networks’ Programming
BETHPAGE, N.Y., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — “Cablevision offered Scripps the ability to continue delivering HGTV and Food Network to our customers while we negotiated a new agreement. This is common practice in the cable industry, and such an extension occurred in the recent dispute between Time Warner Cable and the Fox Network, and in Scripps’ own negotiations with Time Warner Cable. But instead, with virtually no warning, Scripps took the extraordinary step of flipping a switch and removing its channels from Cablevision – effectively holding their own viewers hostage in order to pursue a more than 200 percent fee increase from Cablevision and our customers. The channels where HGTV and Food Network appeared on Cablevision remain available, and if Scripps really cared about their viewers Scripps could put their programming back while we negotiate a new agreement. We believe it was irresponsible for Scripps to take the channels off, and it is irresponsible for them not to put the channels back on.”

If you have hung out with me even the littlest bit you know that I am so going to see 2012 during a matinee on November 13, 2009. I was surfing the web, do people say that anymore, and came across this article of a 2012 related tv series. I love tie ins with movies as long as they are executed correctly. It is usually very hard to go from Movie to Tv because of the difference in budgets. You know super duper graphics on the movie and interns handling that same job for the Tv show. Do not disappoint me 2012!

By Lynette Rice

updated 7:19 p.m. CT, Wed., Nov . 4, 2009
Roland Emmerich, the director/producer of the apocalyptic film “2012” (opening Nov. 13), confirmed to EW exclusively that a small-screen version of the end-of-the-world movie is already in the works. Emmerich said there was “plenty to do in a TV show” and that “2012” executive producer Howard Gordon — who’s also an exec producer on TV shows like “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” — would be attached.

“The plan is that it is 2013 and it’s about what happens after the disaster,” Emmerich told EW while walking the red carpet for the “2012” premiere Tuesday. “It is about the resettling of Earth. That is very, very fascinating. (“2012” writer/producer) Harold Kloser and I came up with the idea and we have the luxury of having a producer on the film who is a big TV producer, Mark Gordon. We said to Mark, ‘Why don’t you do a TV show that picks up where the movie leaves off and call it 2013?’ I think it will focus on a group of people who survived but not on the boats … maybe they were on a piece of land that was spared or one that became an island in the process of the crust moving. There are so many possibilities of what they could do and I’d be excited to watch it.”

Word in Hollywood is that Gordon has already entered talks with ABC to develop the disaster drama. Though Gordon wouldn’t confirm this, he did tell EW that ABC “will have an opening in their disaster-related programming after ‘Lost’ ends” (An ABC spokeswoman declined to comment). “I think people would be interested in this topic on a weekly basis,” Gordon said, who also attended Tuesday’s premiere. “There’s hope for the world despite the magnitude of the 2012 disaster as seen in the film. After the movie, there are some people who survive and the question is how will these survivors build a new world and what will it look like. That might make an interesting TV series.”

Added Emmerich, “The movie talks about the varied reactions people have in the face of disaster and who should survive and how we carry on and what parts of our culture do we save. The TV show could carry on all that.”
