Artist Feature: IB | Blueprint Too

Today IB drops her third full length mixtape on her born day, 12/19. This is a departure from previous mixtapes, as it is her first endeavor not use original beats. This time she swings for the fences with some help from HOV himself. The Blueprint Too features some of her favorite Jay-z tracks and will probably be in your iTunes TOO. 2010 will start with a bang! IB is set to open for Wale and J. Cole is on the bill TOO. Damn there is that word again. So in less than a year IB will have performed with the three hottest fresh MC’s in the business; Drake, J. Cole and Wale.

Music: Introducing… The Future of R&B | Suede Royale

I want to introduce to EVERYBODY a new up and coming artist. Currently signed to Mayback Music/Def Jam as part of the writing/production team The Tranzformerz (who had one of their tracks, Girls on the Bar, sent to Michael Jackson for recording just two days before his passing), singer/songwriter Suede Royale is now stepping out into the spotlight as a solo artist. The promo single Sex Symbol, taken from his mixtape (due January 2010) has just hit Amazon and is coming to iTunes very soon. “The Love Experiment Sex Tape” is a double disc mixture, with one half (The Love Experiment) focusing on the discovery of both the good and bad sides of love and the second half (Sex Tape) featuring songs that showcase Suede’s more sexual side.

Suede is also featured on “Diamonds and Maybachs“, a song featured on “Custom Cars and Cycles“, a new album by Triple C’s, released under Def Jam Records. The song can be purchased by clicking here.

Mya is possibly one of the most underrated females in the industry. To this day, I can still listen to Moodring like it was the first time and get the same excitement as I did in 2003. To me it’s an R&B classic. I just wish everyone embraced her as much as I do. She knows what she has and works it in ways that are distinctly her. Not to mention the fact that she’s amazingly beautiful.

Mya has just released her new mixtape, Beauty & The Streets Vol. 1, and while it’s cool as far as mixtapes go, I’m still just WAITING for a full blown album. It’s been far too long since I’ve had new material (Liberation doesn’t count, lol), so this will have to hold me until she’s ready to release properly. Like I said, I realise it’s a mixtape but Mya really shines when it’s just her on a track (which is proved by the fact that the best tracks on Beauty & The Streets are the ones she does solo). Some of the raps on this album are just… unnecessary. She could have held these tracks on her own and they would have sounded a lot better too. I do really respect her for keeping her name out there though. Can’t knock the hustle!

We miss you Mya.
