Thank You Steve Jobs for birthing a new Apple product into this world. It is a better place because of this kind gesture. If you can not tell by that opening sentence you should not continue to read because the following words may be to big for your mind to handle. If you feel some kind of way about the proceeding statement you probably use a PC and love Windows 7.

I will get this new product. My only debate is if I will get it with or without 3G. Yeah thats right you can use it outside in the open. No contract. Month to Month. I will have two months to decide if I just want wifi and I will have to wait an additional 30 days if I want 3G.

I shall stop rambling and just allow you to look and stare.

Apple Launches iPad

A Magical & Revolutionary Device at an Unbelievable Price

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Apple® today introduced iPad, a revolutionary device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading e-books and much more. iPad’s responsive high-resolution Multi-Touch™ display lets users physically interact with applications and content. iPad is just 0.5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds— thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook. iPad includes 12 new innovative apps designed especially for the iPad, and will run almost all of the over 140,000 apps in the App Store. iPad will be available in late March starting at the breakthrough price of just $499.
(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20100127/SF44883)
“iPad is our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad creates and defines an entirely new category of devices that will connect users with their apps and content in a much more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.”
iPad features 12 next-generation Multi-Touch applications. Every app works in both portrait and landscape, automatically animating between views as the user rotates iPad in any direction. The precise Multi-Touch interface makes surfing the web on iPad an entirely new experience, dramatically more interactive and intimate than on a computer. Reading and sending email is fun and easy on iPad’s large screen and almost full-size “soft” keyboard. Import photos from a Mac®, PC or digital camera, see them organized as albums, and enjoy and share them using iPad’s elegant slideshows. Watch movies, TV shows and YouTube, all in HD or flip through pages of an e-book you downloaded from Apple’s new iBookstore while listening to your music collection.
iPad runs almost all of the over 140,000 apps on the App Store, including apps already purchased for your iPhone® or iPod touch®. The iTunes® Store gives you access to the world’s most popular online music, TV and movie store with a catalog of over 11 million songs, over 50,000 TV episodes and over 8,000 films including over 2,000 in stunning high definition video. Apple also announced the new iBooks app for iPad, which includes Apple’s new iBookstore, the best way to browse, buy and read books on a mobile device. The iBookstore will feature books from major and independent publishers.
Apple also introduced a new version of iWork® for iPad, the first desktop-class productivity suite designed specifically for Multi-Touch. With Pages®, Keynote® and Numbers® you can create beautifully formatted documents, stunning presentations with animations and transitions, and spreadsheets with charts, functions and formulas. The three apps will be available separately through the App Store for $9.99 each.
iPad syncs with iTunes just like the iPhone and iPod touch, using the standard Apple 30-pin to USB cable, so you can sync all of your contacts, photos, music, movies, TV shows, applications and more from your Mac or PC. All the apps and content you download on iPad from the App Store, iTunes Store and iBookstore will be automatically synced to your iTunes library the next time you connect with your computer.
iPad’s brilliant 9.7-inch, LED-backlit display features IPS technology to deliver crisp, clear images and consistent color with an ultra-wide 178 degree viewing angle. The highly precise, capacitive Multi-Touch display is amazingly accurate and responsive whether scrolling web pages or playing games. The intelligent soft keyboard pioneered on iPhone takes advantage of iPad’s larger display to offer an almost full-size soft keyboard. iPad also connects to the new iPad Keyboard Dock with a full-size traditional keyboard.
iPad is powered by A4, Apple’s next-generation system-on-a-chip. Designed by Apple, the new A4 chip provides exceptional processor and graphics performance along with long battery life of up to 10 hours.* Apple’s advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging technology deliver up to 1,000 charge cycles without a significant decrease in battery capacity over a typical five year lifespan.**
iPad comes in two versions—one with Wi-Fi and the other with both Wi-Fi and 3G. iPad includes the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi, and the 3G versions support speeds up to 7.2 Mbps on HSDPA networks. Apple and AT&T announced breakthrough 3G pre-paid data plans for iPad with easy, on-device activation and management.
Continuing Apple’s dedication to designing and creating environmentally responsible products, each iPad enclosure is made of highly recyclable aluminum and comes standard with energy-efficient LED-backlit displays that are mercury-free and made with arsenic-free glass. iPad contains no brominated flame retardants and is completely PVC-free.
Apple today released a new Software Development Kit (SDK) for iPad, so developers can create amazing new applications designed to take advantage of iPad’s capabilities. The SDK includes a simulator that lets developers test and debug their iPad apps on a Mac, and also lets developers create Universal Applications that run on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
Pricing & Availability
iPad will be available in late March worldwide for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model, $699 (US) for the 64GB model. The Wi-Fi + 3G models of iPad will be available in April in the US and selected countries for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad will be sold in the US through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. International pricing and worldwide availability will be announced at a later date. iBookstore will be available in the US at launch.
*Apple tested wireless battery life by browsing web pages and receiving email over an AirPort® network, never letting the system go to sleep during the test, and keeping the display at half brightness. This is a typical scenario of use on the go, resulting in a battery performance number that is very relevant to mobile users.
**A properly maintained iPad battery is designed to retain 80 percent or more of its original capacity during a lifespan of up to 1,000 recharge cycles. Battery life and charge cycles vary by use and settings.
Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Today, Apple continues to lead the industry in innovation with its award-winning computers, OS X operating system and iLife and professional applications. Apple is also spearheading the digital media revolution with its iPod portable music and video players and iTunes online store, and has entered the mobile phone market with its revolutionary iPhone.

I have been greatly amused by this little war that has been waged between Jay Leno (former host of the Tonight Show), Conan O’Brien (current host of The Tonight Show) and NBC (owner of The Tonight Show). For those of you who have been under a rock here is what happened. The owner decided to present a clear plan to hand over the torch of The Tonight Show from The former host (Leno) to the current host (Conan) in a way that would be as orderly as possible. The switch over day was fast approaching and NBC decided that it would rather keep the Leno by giving him another show instead of letting him go to another network. All is well on the switch over date.

Fast forward seven month later, both shows are not doing well and they decided to put Jay Leno back at his old time slot and move Conan and The Tonight Show to after midnight. Conan decided that isnt cool to move “The Tonight Show” too after midnight and the funniest begins. The Tonight show has came on right after the news in The South for as long as I can remember. It would be crazy to have The Tonight show basically tomorrow.

Thats as much as I understand. I dont think its fair to ask someone to have the same ratings in seven months that took someone 17 years to build. Thats just my opinion. I AM TEAM COCO all the way. The only thing NBC has going for them is Law and Order and that is it.

Who’s side are you on and why?

Looks like Ticketmaster and Live Nation are one step closer to forming a global Monopoly on ticket sells and price fixing for the venues that two my own. This is just my opinion. Ticketmaster and Live Nation are trying to cut costs by not having to compete against one another. I wonder if these 360 deals have put pressure on Live Nation? I liked Live Nation because it provided options. I hate not having options. For the consumer this could be a gift and a curse. Gift because it wouldnt be confusing as to which ticket company serves which venue. Bad because this could make prices go up. For artists, it will stream line booking. It may also force them to pay more to rent each venue though.

Hello Guys, Girls and Others,

Today I will be discussing the need for Artist Education. Today’s artist can not afford to be one Dimensional and just focus on their craft. I really want to fly into outer space, but it would probably be ill advised to just learn one aspect of spaceflight huh? I am not going to go into the particular, but I will point out a few things.

Publishing: The quickest way to be broke when you get older and you can come up with any new hits. Take the case of the Legendary George Clinton. He hasnt seen a penny from his smash hit “Atomic Dog” in over 20 years. The reason he was tricked into signing over his publishing.

Management: It’s great to have a management team behind you, but you need to make sure that you have some say in the spends. Example: If you management company is able to spend any amount of money in regarding you and/or project without your consent you will never see any of the money they book. You will be responsible for paying them their 20% plus any money they fronted. If they money goes un checked you could owe more to your management company then your record label.

Name and Likeness: Who owns your brand and who says a say in you in your brand? If you dont know you in trouble. If the label or management can stick your face on anything and everything the will. On the flip side, if you have to get permission to use your own name and likeness how does that help you.

Well just off the heels of a FCC threat to FOX and Time Warner to make nice not stop the fair people of this land from missing Football and The Simpsons another Cable System versus content provider has come to a head. Cable Networks negotiate with Cable providers for fee per customer. This use to be their main source of of income but in the last few years as more people watch Cable Television Cable Networks have been able to make more in advertising.

Enter Scripps Network Interactive, owner of HGTV and The Food Network, and Cablevision. They could not agree on this price so all Cablevision subscribers lost the two networks. The real loser is the customers on Cablevision who love these networks.

So imagine if the content provider and cable provider were the same company. Would these Cable Networks get sweetheart deals regarding premium rates or would non company owned networks get the short end of the stick or will both happen and your cable bill go up? Enter Comcast and NBC. The government needs to seriously look into this upcoming deal.

As you can tell by reading their press releases they are not friends

Statement Issued by Scripps Networks Interactive
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Cablevision simply is not telling the truth.
Scripps Networks Interactive has been trying to have productive negotiations with Cablevision for more than six months, but to no avail. Repeated requests to sit down together to discuss a fair market price for our networks have been rejected – even as recently as Sunday afternoon.
Cablevision is trying to characterize our rate increases as exorbitant and our negotiating strategies as unusual or unethical.
Yet, every other cable and satellite provider in the country has willingly and professionally renegotiated a fair market rate for the rights to carry these popular networks. That’s why both networks can still be seen on every other cable, satellite and telecom system in the country except Cablevision. Under our current contracts, Cablevision pays us about 25 cents per subscriber for the combination of Food Network and HGTV. That combined rate is substantially lower than rates earned by other, individual top 10 cable networks and considerably less than rates Cablevision pays itself for less popular networks that it owns.
True, short-term contract extensions are often granted, but only when the two parties are engaged in productive negotiations and there has been substantive agreement between them. Cablevision’s offer was take-it-or-leave-it, and would still make Food Network – a Top 10 network – one of the lowest paid channels on its lineup.
We regret deeply the interruption of service for Cablevision customers who rely on us for quality programming, but we hope and trust that they understand that Cablevision can’t get something for nothing. Let’s be clear, we have been and remain ready and willing to negotiate. But until they will step forward in good faith, it’s Cablevision that’s holding their customers hostage.

Cablevision Statement Regarding Scripps Networks’ Programming
BETHPAGE, N.Y., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — “Cablevision offered Scripps the ability to continue delivering HGTV and Food Network to our customers while we negotiated a new agreement. This is common practice in the cable industry, and such an extension occurred in the recent dispute between Time Warner Cable and the Fox Network, and in Scripps’ own negotiations with Time Warner Cable. But instead, with virtually no warning, Scripps took the extraordinary step of flipping a switch and removing its channels from Cablevision – effectively holding their own viewers hostage in order to pursue a more than 200 percent fee increase from Cablevision and our customers. The channels where HGTV and Food Network appeared on Cablevision remain available, and if Scripps really cared about their viewers Scripps could put their programming back while we negotiate a new agreement. We believe it was irresponsible for Scripps to take the channels off, and it is irresponsible for them not to put the channels back on.”

WTF? WTF? WTF? is all i can think. How do you use lose $127 million dollars in one casino? That is more than some companies make in a year. I know people live large and “Do It Big” but when does balling out of control become crazy. The gentleman who lost this money is blaming the Casino because he says they kept him drugged up and drunk. I could see that happening. Even if they didnt drug him up, it is really messed up that they would be that greedy. SMDH. This happened in 2007 and $127 million dollars represented 6 % of the casino’s revenue.

What do you think happened?
