The original title for this was Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer. I wonder why they changed the name? Just like I support the music of R. Kelly and not his personal life; Mr. Polanski is a great director. I hope that whatever is going on with his situation is resolved soon and who am I to judge him. Moving right along…

The Plot

“The Ghost Writer” tells the story of a former British Prime Minister, Adam Lang (Pierce Brosnan), who is holed up on an island off the Eastern seaboard of the U.S. in midwinter, writing his memoirs. When his long-standing aide drowns, a professional ghostwriter (Ewan McGregor) is sent out to help him finish the book.

The anonymous ghost writer is quickly drawn into a political and sexual intrigue involving Lang’s wife, Ruth (Olivia Williams) and his aide (Kim Cattrall). Hanging over Lang is the threat of a war crimes trial and a mysterious secret from his past that threatens to jeopardize international relations. The film is based on the Robert Harris novel “The Ghost.”

Thank You Steve Jobs for birthing a new Apple product into this world. It is a better place because of this kind gesture. If you can not tell by that opening sentence you should not continue to read because the following words may be to big for your mind to handle. If you feel some kind of way about the proceeding statement you probably use a PC and love Windows 7.

I will get this new product. My only debate is if I will get it with or without 3G. Yeah thats right you can use it outside in the open. No contract. Month to Month. I will have two months to decide if I just want wifi and I will have to wait an additional 30 days if I want 3G.

I shall stop rambling and just allow you to look and stare.

Apple Launches iPad

A Magical & Revolutionary Device at an Unbelievable Price

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Apple® today introduced iPad, a revolutionary device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading e-books and much more. iPad’s responsive high-resolution Multi-Touch™ display lets users physically interact with applications and content. iPad is just 0.5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds— thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook. iPad includes 12 new innovative apps designed especially for the iPad, and will run almost all of the over 140,000 apps in the App Store. iPad will be available in late March starting at the breakthrough price of just $499.
(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20100127/SF44883)
“iPad is our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad creates and defines an entirely new category of devices that will connect users with their apps and content in a much more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.”
iPad features 12 next-generation Multi-Touch applications. Every app works in both portrait and landscape, automatically animating between views as the user rotates iPad in any direction. The precise Multi-Touch interface makes surfing the web on iPad an entirely new experience, dramatically more interactive and intimate than on a computer. Reading and sending email is fun and easy on iPad’s large screen and almost full-size “soft” keyboard. Import photos from a Mac®, PC or digital camera, see them organized as albums, and enjoy and share them using iPad’s elegant slideshows. Watch movies, TV shows and YouTube, all in HD or flip through pages of an e-book you downloaded from Apple’s new iBookstore while listening to your music collection.
iPad runs almost all of the over 140,000 apps on the App Store, including apps already purchased for your iPhone® or iPod touch®. The iTunes® Store gives you access to the world’s most popular online music, TV and movie store with a catalog of over 11 million songs, over 50,000 TV episodes and over 8,000 films including over 2,000 in stunning high definition video. Apple also announced the new iBooks app for iPad, which includes Apple’s new iBookstore, the best way to browse, buy and read books on a mobile device. The iBookstore will feature books from major and independent publishers.
Apple also introduced a new version of iWork® for iPad, the first desktop-class productivity suite designed specifically for Multi-Touch. With Pages®, Keynote® and Numbers® you can create beautifully formatted documents, stunning presentations with animations and transitions, and spreadsheets with charts, functions and formulas. The three apps will be available separately through the App Store for $9.99 each.
iPad syncs with iTunes just like the iPhone and iPod touch, using the standard Apple 30-pin to USB cable, so you can sync all of your contacts, photos, music, movies, TV shows, applications and more from your Mac or PC. All the apps and content you download on iPad from the App Store, iTunes Store and iBookstore will be automatically synced to your iTunes library the next time you connect with your computer.
iPad’s brilliant 9.7-inch, LED-backlit display features IPS technology to deliver crisp, clear images and consistent color with an ultra-wide 178 degree viewing angle. The highly precise, capacitive Multi-Touch display is amazingly accurate and responsive whether scrolling web pages or playing games. The intelligent soft keyboard pioneered on iPhone takes advantage of iPad’s larger display to offer an almost full-size soft keyboard. iPad also connects to the new iPad Keyboard Dock with a full-size traditional keyboard.
iPad is powered by A4, Apple’s next-generation system-on-a-chip. Designed by Apple, the new A4 chip provides exceptional processor and graphics performance along with long battery life of up to 10 hours.* Apple’s advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging technology deliver up to 1,000 charge cycles without a significant decrease in battery capacity over a typical five year lifespan.**
iPad comes in two versions—one with Wi-Fi and the other with both Wi-Fi and 3G. iPad includes the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi, and the 3G versions support speeds up to 7.2 Mbps on HSDPA networks. Apple and AT&T announced breakthrough 3G pre-paid data plans for iPad with easy, on-device activation and management.
Continuing Apple’s dedication to designing and creating environmentally responsible products, each iPad enclosure is made of highly recyclable aluminum and comes standard with energy-efficient LED-backlit displays that are mercury-free and made with arsenic-free glass. iPad contains no brominated flame retardants and is completely PVC-free.
Apple today released a new Software Development Kit (SDK) for iPad, so developers can create amazing new applications designed to take advantage of iPad’s capabilities. The SDK includes a simulator that lets developers test and debug their iPad apps on a Mac, and also lets developers create Universal Applications that run on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
Pricing & Availability
iPad will be available in late March worldwide for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model, $699 (US) for the 64GB model. The Wi-Fi + 3G models of iPad will be available in April in the US and selected countries for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad will be sold in the US through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. International pricing and worldwide availability will be announced at a later date. iBookstore will be available in the US at launch.
*Apple tested wireless battery life by browsing web pages and receiving email over an AirPort® network, never letting the system go to sleep during the test, and keeping the display at half brightness. This is a typical scenario of use on the go, resulting in a battery performance number that is very relevant to mobile users.
**A properly maintained iPad battery is designed to retain 80 percent or more of its original capacity during a lifespan of up to 1,000 recharge cycles. Battery life and charge cycles vary by use and settings.
Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Today, Apple continues to lead the industry in innovation with its award-winning computers, OS X operating system and iLife and professional applications. Apple is also spearheading the digital media revolution with its iPod portable music and video players and iTunes online store, and has entered the mobile phone market with its revolutionary iPhone.

Well boys and girls it looks like there is a new blogger in town. You may know her for very well for her other endeavors, but would on the block is Mrs/ms/Miss Karrine Steffans is now set to blog on Globalgrind.com. I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt and not say anything negative as of right now.My only advice is make sure you actions and personal life mirror whatever it is you are going to write about. What I mean is dont get upset if you talk about sexual things and people come at you that way. If you talk about real shit, then people will come at you real. People can change their lives and maybe you have and/or maybe you havent. BTW, Im not judging any choice(s) you make, but I will voice my opinion if I have one.

Notice how I made no mention of anything other than my opinion and my thoughts. No mud slinging.

Real talk, I may have to buy this book. The Hulk almost killed himself.
Synopsis
Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, burst onto the professional wrestling scene in the late seventies and went on to become a world wrestling champion many times over. From humble beginnings, this giant of a man escaped a pre-ordained life of dock and construction work in Port Tampa, Florida, to become one of the most recognizable celebrities on the planet.

He did it through sheer will, grit, determination, and a drive to always go over the top and do more than what others thought possible. From the outside, his story was one of a charmed life—he was at the top of his career, had a wonderful and loving family, and a lifelong fan base who worshipped him. Of course he had his up and downs—including hints of steroid abuse and his falling out with WWE and Vince McMahon—but it’s been the last two years that have tested Hogan more than any other in his lifetime. In 2007, while riding the massive success of his VH1 reality show, Hogan Knows Best, his son Nick was involved in a tragic car accident that left his best friend in critical condition. Then Linda, his wife, left him after 23 years of marriage, his beloved daughter Brooke blamed him for the breakup and his son went to jail. The tabloid media had a field day. When unflattering jailhouse conversations between him and his son were released to the press the tabloids were in a frenzy. The sudden turmoil and tragedy surrounding Hogan took its toll. He fell into a deep depression, seeing no way out, until one fate ful phone call. In My Life Outside the Ring, Hogan will unabash edly recount these events, revealing how his new found clarity steadied him during the most difficult match of his life—and howhe emerged from the battle feeling stronger than ever before.
I was right there grasping the side of the car with my hands when I finally saw Nick—my only son—folded up like an accordion with his head down by the gas pedal. “Nick!” I yelled. I could see he was alive. He turned his head and he stuck his hand out and raised his thumb. He could hear me. He gave me a thumbs-up. For a second I was relieved. Then the chaos set in. The noise of engines and sirens. A saw. Para – medics pulling John from the passenger seat. So much blood. I can’t even describe to you how panicked I was. The police and firefighters surrounding us seemed panicked, too. The firefighters started cutting the side of the car open to try to get Nick out, and I’m still standing right there when I hear my boy screaming, “No, no, no, stop! Stop! You’re gonna cut my legs off. Dad! Just unbuckle the seatbelt. I can get out!” So I reach in and I push the button on his seat belt, and Nick just crawls right out. His wrist was broken. His ribs were cracked. None of that mattered. He was gonna be okay. But not John. John wasn’t moving. —from MY LIFE OUTSIDE THE RING

I went to movies tonight with my good friends and my favorite little homies and had the pleasure of seeing Spike Jonze’s adaptation of the popular children’s book “Where The Wild Things Are”. I must say that it was a great movie. The visuals were on point with little to no CGI. The “monsters” were people in costumes with very advanced facial expressions.

The movie starts off slow and we see things through the eyes of a young child named Max. Max is going through the typical youngest child with a sister who is never there teenager, a working mom and a dad who doesnt stay with him. So poor Max is starved for attention and some other stuff happens and he winds up in another world.

He then comes across a group of creatures and tells them he is King to stop from becoming their meal. He leads the merry bunch into various adventures and situations learning along the way that nothing is perfect. Some other stuff happens and ends with him gazing at his mother.

I dont want to give away to much that is why I am vague. I think the movie was primarily made for adults because some of the subject matter is adult in nature. I would still bring my kid though, its only rated PG13. There were more adults then kids in attendance.

Where The Wild Things Are captures a youthful time and for that I thank them. Go see this flick, kids optional.

Secrets. We all have them. We all wonder who may share the same secret as us. We also wonder who might know our secret. Have you ever had the desire to just scream at the top of your lungs, blurting out all of your deepest and darkest secrets? But wait, then everyone would know what you’ve been hiding and you don’t exactly want that to happen, right? I mean, people do tend to have a cruel way of judging, coming to conclusions, and disowning once they find out something completely crazy about somebody. Sad but let’s face it… people do, do that. Well here’s your chance to share your secret with the world while staying COMPLETELY anonymous. It’s called PostSecret

My friend Whitney introduced me to PostSecret about 4 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. It’s a website that was created back in 2005 by Frank Warren. It started off as a random project and has since then turned into a world phenomenon. People decorate postcards with their secret and send it to Frank with complete and total anonymity. Frank then decides which postcards he thinks he should post on the website and which ones he should publish into his books. Every Sunday Frank posts a new batch of secrets on his site. There are absolutely no boundaries on what one posts on their card. Secrets range form sex and religion, dreams and aspirations, to abuse and criminal activities and beyond.

Frank has published 4 PostSecret books filled with hundreds of postsecret postcards. I must admit… I own all 4 of them and I definitely plan on purchasing the 5th one on October 6th! (Confessions on Life, Death, & God)

1.) PostSecret: Extraordinary Confessions from Ordinary Lives

2.) My Secret: A PostSecret Book

3.) The Secret Lives of Men and Women: A PostSecret Book

4.) A Lifetime of Secrets: A PostSecret Book

If interested in buying any of these books go to your local bookstore such as Borders and Barnes & Noble. Make sure you flip through your book carefully though… Sometimes people go to the bookstore and slip their own postcard/piece of paper with their secret written on it between the pages of the PostSecret books instead of mailing them in. It’s pretty cool. It allows the buyer of that book to find a little surprise and an extra secret that no one else has in their book. I am one of the lucky people who have received an extra secret in one of the books. I was so excited! Then when I was reading this slipped in secret my mouth flew open. I was in total shock. It was like I knew exactly who wrote this secret and that it was written to me specifically. I highly doubt it is from this person because what are the chances? But you never know! Here’s the secret I got —>

Anyway, I thought I would share this amazing site and concept with all of you. I guess you can say it’s like a coping mechanism in some type of way, especially when you’re reading a secret and realize that you have the same one!

One last thing… Frank is on tour right now so if you’re interested in listening to him and hearing what he has to say then check him out in a city near you! Check out www.postsecret.com for tour dates and to read this weeks secrets!

Jon even brings up the fact that LeBron is about to be a free agent in about a year and tries to convince him to go to New York with silly little “souvenirs.” Sorry Jon, but LBJ is staying at home in Cleveland… at least I hope he does! We gotta get that ring this year! Anyway, It’s a great 6:34 interview filled with a bunch of laughs and silly comments. LeBron has an awesome sense of humor and he definitely knows how to joke around.

I think I have read every single Dan Brown that has been published. The 1st book I read ,probably like the millions of others who discovered Mr. Brown’s mix of fiction and fact , was The Davinci Code. The Davinci Code was literary crack to me. I could not put the book down and I read it cover to cover in about a day. After that book I looked up other books that Dan Brown had wrote and low and behold I found Angels and Demons , Deception Point and Digital Fortress. I read them in quick order and was left wondering where Dan would take Robert Langdon next. Millions of books sold and two global blockbusters later enter The Lost Symbol.

You can get your copy after I get mine on 9/15/09. My birthday is 9/14 so friends, family and others… Synopsis courtesy of bn.com when you

Dan Brown’s new novel, the eagerly awaited follow-up to his #1 international phenomenon, The Da Vinci Code, which was the bestselling hardcover adult novel of all time with 81 million copies in print worldwide, will be published in the U.S. and Canada by Doubleday on September 15, 2009.

THE LOST SYMBOL will have a first printing of 5 million copies, and it will once again feature Dan Brown’s unforgettable protagonist, Robert Langdon. Brown’s longtime editor, Jason Kaufman, Vice President and Executive Editor at Doubleday said, “Nothing ever is as it first appears in a Dan Brown novel. This book’s narrative takes place in a twelve-hour period, and from the first page, Dan’s readers will feel the thrill of discovery as they follow Robert Langdon through a masterful and unexpected new landscape. THE LOST SYMBOL is full of surprises.”

Dan Brown’s popularity continues to grow. The film of The Da Vinci Code was a #1 box office smash when it was released by Columbia Pictures in May 2006 with Ron Howard directing and Tom Hanks starring as Robert Langdon. Box office receipts were $758 million. The same team released Angels and Demons theatrically worldwide on May 15, 2009.
